As reported by Ignazio Genuardi, AC Milan’s loanee French international midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko is no longer part of the Italian club’s plans, despite having a year left to run on his loan deal from Chelsea.
The 27-year-old former Monaco man played just 14 games for Milan as the club won Serie A last season and the San Siro side are looking to focus on their own returning loanee from Torino, Italian international Tommaso Pobega, as well as pursuing the likes of Renato Sanches from Lille for the midfield roles.
Bakayoko’s contract with Chelsea runs to 2024 while his loan in Italy ends in 2023, where Milan have a €20m option to buy, but he has nevertheless been offered around to other clubs this summer, including Marseille. Lyon were reported as interested last summer before the player returned to Milan for a second loan after other loan spells with his former club Monaco and Napoli.
Initially, Bakayoko joined Chelsea for €40m in 2017 after winning the Ligue 1 title with Monaco.
