(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 18 – Argentina forward Paulo Dybala landed
in Portugal on Monday to join his new AS Roma team mates at a
pre-summer training camp after agreeing to move to the Rome club
overnight.
“I’m very happy,” Dybala told Sky.
When asked if he was ready to take the number 10 shirt of
retired club legend Francesco Totti, he replied “surprise”.
The 28-year-old comes to the Roman side as a free agent after
his contract with Juventus expired at the end of last season.
He is set to sign a three-year contract and earn up to six
million euros a season, including bonuses, the sources said.
He will do a medical and sign his contract on the Algarve, the
sources said.
One of the most creative players in Serie A, Dybala is set to
form an exciting partnership with England striker Tammy Abraham
and boost Roma’s hopes of winning the title.
Abraham’s goals helped Roma win the UEFA Conference League in
coach Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge. (ANSA).
