Good afternoon, 12s. Here’s a look at what’s out there today – Monday, July 25 – about your Seattle Seahawks.
The XFL Returns To Seattle
The city of Seattle will be acquiring another football team, as the XFL announces its return to Emerald City and Lumen Field.
In 2020, Lumen Field served as home field for the Seattle Dragons in the rebooted XFL’s inaugural season. After being forced to fold due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the league has been saved by new Co-Owners Dany Garcia and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Sunday, the league officially announced the eight cities that will play host for the 2023 XFL Season, with Seattle making a return.
While it’s not certain if the Dragons will return as the team name for Seattle’s franchise, a few things are already in order. Sunday also finalized coaching announcements, with former New Orleans Saints head coach Jim Haslett taking the reins for Seattle this season.
Randy Mueller spent more than a decade with the Seattle Seahawks franchise, starting as a personnel assistant in 1983; ending as VP of football operations in 1999. Mueller will serve as Director of Player Personnel for Seattle’s franchise.
