On Friday, July 22, 2022, 22 youth participated in the Dale & Audrey Zentner Junior Golf Tournament at the Merrill Golf Club. The tournament, which started in 2014 by the couple’s three sons, Tom, Jeff, and Mike Zentner, began as a way to honor their parents, Dale and Audrey Zentner. Golf was, and still is, a big part of the Zentner family life, they say. The boys grew up on the golf course, and their parents supported each of them to play the game, play by the rules, and “just have fun.” After all, golf is a game to play well, while also enjoying the day with your friends, they taught them.
Tom, Jeff, and Mike Zentner have tried to keep the tournament competitive for the kids, but never want them to lose sight of enjoying the game and the fellowship of playing with others. The tournament is inclusive of boys and girls of all age groups, and after golf, they provide lunch and awards for the players.
Seeing kids on the golf course brings great joy to the three Zentner boys. “We think our mother and father would be proud of what we have tried to do,” Tom, Jeff, and Mike say. “So kids … just have fun!”
