The Lycoming College women’s soccer team has been selected seventh in the MAC Freedom Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
The defending MAC Freedom champion, Misericordia (64) was the unanimous pick to repeat, receiving all eight first-place votes from opposing coaches. Stevens (56), DeSales (50), Wilkes (37), and Arcadia (36) make up the rest of the top half of the poll. FDU Florham (34), Lycoming (24), King’s (Pa.) (15), and Delaware Valley (8) finish off the poll.
The Warriors finished 11-7-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the MAC Freedom under head coach Kenny Fern, finishing one win shy of the school record of 12 wins set in 200.
The Warriors return senior Bella Green, a first team All-MAC Freedom selection from South Williamsport, who led the team with 12 goals and 10 assists, making her the first Warrior to reach double-digits in both categories in the same season. She is one of nine players that started at least 10 games that return from a powerful offense that averaged 2.5 goals per game in 2021 while winning 10 games for the second straight year for the first time in program history.
