Iga Swiatek is killing it now and it has much to do with Pegula’s huge drop off since she got the break of serve.
Since Pegula was up 3-2 and 30-love, she has lost 14 of 15 points.
She doubled faulted to set up three break points for Swiatek and an unforced error gave the edge back to the world No.1, who served out the set shortly after, converting two set points to take it 6-2.
Pegula was seen talking to her team during play:
“We don’t often see her do that. At this stage tension is in her brain,” the commentary team observed.
“As soon as you grab that crucial break you can become nervous. You start to think of the opportunity that’s been presented to you.”
