RAIPUR: Karnataka and Vidarbha drubbed their respective opponents in the T20 matches played at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium here under the Chhattisgarh Cup T-20 Tournament 2022.
Put into bat by the visitors Karnataka, hosts Chhattisgarh Blue put 170 for five in 20 overs as Harpreet Singh Bhatia scored 84 off 63 including three sixes. Shashank Singh contributed 25 off 15 and Amandeep Khare made 19 off 18. Shubhang Hegde claimed two wickets for Karnataka.
Chasing the target of 171, Karnataka won the match by five wickets in 18.2 overs. Chetan L R and Loovnith Sisodia scored 37 and 28 respectively for the visitors. Pacer Ravi Kiran and spin bowler Ajay Mandal claimed two wickets each for Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile Vidarbha won a nail-biting match against Baroda. Winning the toss, Baroda opted to field first. Put into bat, Vidarbha scored 172 for nine as Atharv Taide made 60 off 41 and Aman Mokhade scored 27 off 16. Safwan Patel claimed five scalps of Vidarbha. In reply, Baroda could score 168 for seven falling short of two runs. Dhruw Patel’s 66 off 46 went in vain. Yash Thakur took three wickets for Vidarbha while Darshan Nalkande took two.
