“Having two players earn their way through a tough qualifying draw is awesome,” Memphis head coach Hayden Perez said. “All of the girls have been working hard, and to see some of that pay off for them in the first tournament of the fall is great.”
Teixido Garcia returns to action this weekend at the prestigious All-American Championships held in Cary, N.C. She will compete beginning Saturday morning in the pre-qualifying draw and again each day if she continues to advance. She and Meyer will play in doubles starting Monday in the qualifying draw. Heavy rains in the area from Hurricane Ian will likely force the tournament indoors for the first several days of the event.
