The AFC West sent two of its teams to “Monday Night Football” last week with the Raiders and Chiefs providing a thriller. For Week 6, the other two squads in the division get their turn, as the Broncos and Chargers meet in L.A. Monday night.
The Chargers are currently sitting at 3-2 in the division, behind the Chiefs, but ahead of the 2-3 Broncos and the 1-4 Raiders. The MNF matchup is a prime opportunity for Los Angeles to create separation between their division opponent, while Denver could leapfrog into second with a win.
Russell Wilson and the Broncos have been in the bright lights on prime time three times already this season, but nothing has been prime about their performances. Denver is 1-2 so far this season when playing in the prime time slot, defeating the 49ers 11-10 on Sunday Night Football in Week 3, but falling to the Seahawks and Colts.

The Broncos are coming off that loss to the Colts, which occurred on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 5. Neither team managed a touchdown, as Brandon McManus and Chase McLaughlin exchanged field goals. The contest went to overtime, where McLaughlin gave the Colts a 12-9 win with a successful 48-yard attempt.
The Chargers have played one game previously in prime time, Week 2 “Sunday Night Football” against the Chiefs where Kansas City earned the win. The team enters Week 5 coming off a tight 30-28 win over the Browns, their second victory in a row.

8:52 p.m. — Long strike for the Chargers, as after Ekeler gets a first down, Herbert hits Donald Parham Jr. for a 24-yard reception to get them to midfield.
8:46 p.m. — Right after the long play to Jeudy, Wilson follows it up with a 39-yard touchdown score to Greg Dulcich. The tight end was left wide open at the 15 and he goes in untouched. Not a bad NFL debut for Dulcich to start. With 1:19 left in the first quarter, it’s Broncos 10, Chargers 0.

8:45 p.m. — Big play by the Broncos on third down. It looks like Mack might get to Wilson for his second sack, but the QB scrambles to his right and eventually finds Jerry Jeudy for a 37-yard reception.

8:39 p.m. — Denver avoids disaster as Montrell Washington muffs the punt, but is able to recover. Denver starts their second drive at their own 16.
8:39 p.m. — It look liked Austin Ekeler might be able to get the first down, but Baron Browning trips him up short of the first-down mark and the Chargers will be forced to punt.
8:37 p.m. — Another penalty, this one on the Chargers on the first play of their drive. Rookie lineman Zion Johnson is called for holding, so it’ll be first-and-20.
8:33 p.m. — Broncos are on the board with 7:20 left in the first quarter, as Brandon McManus nails a 51-yard field goal to give Denver an early lead. Broncos 3, Chargers 0
8:32 p.m. — Khalil Mack wraps up Wilson for the sack on third down. It’s not enough to put the Broncos out of field goal range, but a big stop by the Chargers’ defense.

8:29 p.m. — An attempt from Russell Wilson to Courtland Sutton on the sideline falls incomplete, but J.C. Jackson is called for pass interference. An automatic first down for the Broncos.
8:28 p.m. — Another offensive penalty, this time on third-and-9, for the Broncos. Cam Fleming is called for a false start, pushing it to a third-and-14.
8:26 p.m. — First play for Denver and Lloyd Cushenberry is whistled for holding and it puts them back 10 yards.
8:24 p.m. — Broncos will begin their first drive at their own 21.
8:22 p.m. — Bad penalty on third down for the Chargers. A false start by center Will Clapp forces the Chargers to face a third-and-16. Herbert can’t hit Bandy near the end zone and Los Angeles is forced to punt.
8:19 p.m. — Denver stops Los Angeles on a third down, but Brandon Staley is aggressive early. He goes for it on fourth-and-2 and finds Michael Bandy for the completion and first down.
