SARTELL — Aitkin’s Breanna Hines outlasted Mora’s Mya Peterson in a three-set marathon to finish third in the Section 7-1A Individual singles bracket Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Hines fell to Addison Sell 6-4, 7-5 in the semifinals before topping Peterson 7-6(8), 6-7(1), 6-2.
Unfortunately, Addison Sell lost to teammate Ella Sell in the section championship preventing Hines a chance for a True-Second match.
Pierz’s doubles team of Kenna Otte-Britney Schommer finished fourth in the doubles bracket. They fell to a Pine City team 6-1, 6-4 in the semifinals and then to Duluth Marshall’s Meredith Boettcher-Danica Mark in the third-place match 6-1, 6-0.
