Despite the Chicago Bears’ 3-4 start to the 2022 season, it appears the NFC North franchise might be a seller ahead of the deadline.
The Chicago Bears are reportedly receiving interest in veteran defensive leader Robert Quinn ahead of the deadline.
Quinn is a high-impact player at a position of need for top contenders around the League.
Expect some trade noise on Quinn before the deadline hits next week.
“Continue to hear #Bears DE Robert Quinn as a trade candidate from several teams. The biggest hurdle right now is Quinn’s $18.2M cap hit for 2023 and where Ryan Poles stands on that. Terrific player who had 18.5 sacks last season and would certainly help a contender,” said Jordan Schultz.
The biggest issue here is Robert Quinn’s cap hit, which is $18.2 million for 2023. The Bears might be incentivized to trade Quinn for a late-round pick.
However, a team could get desperate and send a third if that team has Super Bowl aspirations.
“If I’m making a playoff push and need pass rush I’m sending my third..,” one fan wrote.
“The Bears should eat some of the prorated cap hit to get a better pick. Makes sense for Chicago considering it’s cap sheet,” another fan wrote.
“Feel like the #Bears culture has grown enough that they can move Rob now and it won’t impact the locker room significantly. Also, Quinn deserves to play for a contender after never being on one his entire career,” a fan said.
Should the Bears move Robert Quinn ahead of the deadline? It sounds like the right momentum is building for a deal to be made.
