The Rangers vs. Golden Knights is the headlining matchup on Wednesday’s TNT slate, as the network is set to bring another night of doubleheader NHL action.
New York travels out to Vegas to take on one of the best teams in the league. The Golden Knights sit atop the Western Conference with a 19-7-1 record, recently snapping the Bruins’ 14-game winning streak at home to start the season. Jack Eichel missed the game against Boston but has paced the way for the team this year, averaging over a point per game with 29 in 26 contests.
Opposing the surging Golden Knights are the Rangers, who have sat right around .500 for the majority of the year. While they recently knocked off the Blues their last time out, the Rangers have lost five out of their last seven contests. New York owns a record of 12-10-5 heading into the game on Wednesday
Before the showcase in Sin City, it is the Sabres and Blue Jackets going head-to-head in Columbus. It marks the second consecutive week the Sabres will be featured on TNT. Buffalo pulled out a 5-4 shootout win last Wednesday against the Red Wings after blowing a 4-1 lead in the third period. Most recently, the Sabres defeated the Sharks 6-3 and are 11-13-1 on the year.
The Blue Jackets are coming off a loss last time out to the Red Wings, dropping their record to 8-13-2. Both Buffalo and Columbus sit in the bottom four of the Eastern Conference.
