Changes to the LaGrange College Football program were announced Wednesday. Head Coach Earl Chambers and Assistant Coaches Jarred Rutherford, Kendall Todd and Brett Banfield will be leaving the team.
“We are grateful to Coach Chambers and the impact he has made in the lives of many students and in the broader community,” said college President Susanna Baxter. “We wish him the best in his future.”
She said the college aims to continue to advance and transform the football program and has begun the process of launching a search for a new head coach, a process that will include current team captains.
Athletic Director Terlynn Olds also expressed appreciation to Chambers.
“I have valued my time working with Earl and greatly appreciate his hard work and dedication to LC Athletics.”
Assistant Coaches Cory Grissom and Randy Starks will remain with the program and will be working closely with the team as it moves through this transition period.
Olds said the college’s goal remains an excellent DIII football program committed to team members’ academic and athletic success.
“We look forward to the 2023 season and the opportunities for growth that await our program and student-athletes.”
