Two of the games biggest stars right now in the NHL go head-to-head as Connor McDavid’s Oilers travel down to Texas to face Jason Robertson and the Stars in the headliner on TNT’s Wednesday night doubleheader.
McDavid is doing his thing yet again this season. The four-time Art Ross winner is pacing the league in points once more, with 64 in 33 games. He also is first in goals this year with 28 heading into the contest with the Stars.
Fourth in points and third in goals in the NHL is Robertson, who continues to be one of the league’s brightest young stars. He’s up to 24 goals and 47 points in just 33 games with Dallas this year.
The Stars sit in first in the Central Division with a record of 19-8-6. They are coming off a 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Monday. On the other side, the Oilers are 17-14-2 and on a three-game losing skid.
Before the Oilers-Stars games, TNT will have the Panthers vs. Devils matchup.
New Jersey remains in first place in the Metropolitan, however, the Devils have lost five consecutive contests and a loss could potentially drop them out of the top spot in the division. They own a record of 21-8-2.
The Panthers have not seen nearly as much success as last season when they won the Presidents’ Trophy. Florida is 15-14-4 this year and has lost four out of its last six games.
