EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon will open its 2022 dual season when it hosts Portland State on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Student Tennis Center. The Ducks enter their fourth season under head coach Courtney Nagle and will look to build upon a 2021 season in which they went 13-8 and 5-5 in Pac-12 play, highlighted by three wins over ranked opponents.

Oregon got solid singles play out of a number of players during the fall, led by Ares Teixido Garcia who went 5-1 and freshman Sophie Luescher and Myah Petchey who both went 7-2. Uxia Martinez Moral posted a 6-3 record while Lillian Mould went 4-2. Petchey ended the fall strong, winning her draw at the San Diego State Fall Classic with a trio of straight-set wins.
The Ducks mixed and matched their doubles teams all fall, using 14 different pairs while just five duos played more than two matches together. Martinez Moral and Misaki Kobayashi went 3-1 as a pair while Luescher and Allison Mulville combined to go 3-2.
Following Sunday’s match, Oregon will continue its season-opening homestand with weekend matchups against Cal Poly on Jan. 21 and Gonzaga on Jan. 23.
