India defeated Ireland by 174 runs in their Group B fixture to qualify for the Super League stage in the ongoing ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. Chasing a target of 308 runs, Ireland were bowled out for 133 in 39 overs. Garv Anil Sangwan, Aneeshwar Gautam and Kaushal Tambe registered two dismissals each for India. Meanwhile, Vicky Ostwal, Ravi Kumar and Rajvardhan Suhas Hangarekar bagged a wicket each. Initially, India posted 307 for five in 50 overs, courtesy of some fine batting by their opening pair; Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Harnoor Singh. Raghuvanshi smashed 79 runs off 79 balls and also hammered 10 fours and two sixes. On the other hand, Harnoor played a knock of 88 runs off 101 deliveries and also smacked 12 fours. India were also without captain Yash Dhull, who reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 along with five other teammates. In his absence, Nishant Sindhu was the stand-in skipper for India. (Scorecard)
