A native of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Bronson La’Cassie competed for the Gophers from 2004-2007.
After being named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2004, La’Cassie continued on and won the Big Ten Conference’s Les Bolstad Scoring Award for the lowest seasonal Big Ten average in 2006. During his senior season in 2007, La’Cassie helped Minnesota win a share of the 2007 Big Ten title. He was the first golfer in school history to earn four All-Big Ten First Team accolades and is the only four-time PING/GCCAA All-American in program history.
La’Cassie’s Minnesota career scoring average of 72.48 ranks second all-time in program history. He is tied for fifth in program history for low 54-hole score (204), 18-hole score (65) and is eighth in single season scoring average with a 72.11 in 2004-05.
Following his career with the Gophers, La’Cassie turned professional and has competed on the Korn Ferry Tour, the PGA Australaisa Tour and NGA Hooters Tour. La’Cassie secured a PGA Tour card for the 2013-14 season by winning the Cox Classic to finish sixth on the Web.com Tour money list. He was the fifth former Gopher to earn full PGA Tour status, joining Tom Lehman, James McLean, Aaron Barber and Donald Constable.
La’Cassie was also the winner of the prestigious 2006 Western Amateur.
