CHAMPAIGN, ILL – The University of Illinois is updating the mask and vaccine protocols at University sponsored events. Beginning Monday, February 28, 2022, the campus will drop the mask mandate, except in instructional spaces. Also, starting February 28, patrons attending University sponsored events on campus will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test prior to entrance, unless dictated in contracts. Masks are recommended at events, but not required.
The change in protocols will include Fighting Illini men’s basketball games scheduled March 3 and March 6, as well as the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Regional Championships March 31-April 2, Chicago Live in Concert April 12, Hairspray April 18, For King & Country on April 21, and Earth, Wind & Fire May 6 scheduled at State Farm Center. The women’s and men’s gymnastics meets on March 4, March 10, and March 12 at Huff Hall, along with men’s and women’s tennis matches at Atkins Tennis Center are also included in this update.
